I love horse racing. I have a Group One trophy in my cabinet. Montoyas Secret won the three year old fillies Vinery at Rosehill. Team Corstens and Noel Callow got our girl to do an extraordinary thing. King Callow copped a healthy fine in the process. It was an enormous thrill.
Horse racing is a lot like hospitality. It's hard to make money, full of ups and downs, intoxicating and infectious. Hard work, dedication and a non-commercial passion and commitment is required. I have, somehow, been bitten by both bugs.
My business had a trial today. It was encouraging. We made it out of the barriers and ran evens through the line. We will be better for it.
It's a long and uncertain road ahead. We will go through the grades and hopefully mount a Spring campaign. One hoof at a time.
