Johnson and Johnson are a 'pin up' organisation. They are the 'All Anglo' pharmaceutical company that have dominated FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) market since we used to wash our hair with baby shampoo. The ethics of these people have never been properly questioned.
One product in their portfolio is called 'Codral'. It is a hybrid tablet of paracetamol and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. Yes on the street, melted down, it is known as ICE.
You've seen the ads. They tell you to 'soldier on' when you are symptomatic and the carrier of a virus. Mask symptoms and head off to work to share your bug with your colleagues. Pharmaceuticals have been manipulating behaviour the whole time. The two active drugs would send a soldier back to the battle field. In a war environment, a virus is the least of your problems. They would certainly get you up for work.
The concept of masking symptoms and 'soldiering on', is surely not going to be a solid marketing campaign. The pharmaceutical industry has a lot to consider moving forward.
